Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Personality Honour

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their remarkable achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.
The event will be aired from 7 PM GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for this honour is a privilege," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler kicked off the year in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
He didn't stop there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
