McKenna's Stance on The Scottish Club

McKenna referred to Celtic as "a really big football club" but emphasized he is "deeply involved" of a "extensive rebuilding" with Ipswich Town.

The mid-thirties assumed control of Ipswich in 2021 and led them to the English top flight with consecutive elevations, but they managed only a handful of victories last campaign as they were relegated back to the Championship and they presently occupy 12th in England's second tier.

"There have been any of those conversations," the English capital native former Irish youth international said when questioned about being on the candidate list.

"It's not something I have given any thought to, or where any portion of my concentration is this week.

"I possess a unique position here at a special team. And we're at a really important phase of the season. Anything external hasn't reached my radar."

Context and Agreement Details

Reports indicate that the manager would be willing to talk to the Scottish side given his childhood support.

"During youth, we all have our affinities," he said when asked about those. "It's unlikely all people has to publicly and announce what they were, but naturally it's a massive sports organization."

McKenna agreed to a new four-year contract in last year and was asked about his alleged buyout clause.

"Throughout coaching agreements, there are provisions," he replied. "I don't know what my specific terms are and, were I informed, I wouldn't tell you regardless!

"I tackle this job like I will remain Ipswich manager indefinitely. I know that's not invariably going to be the case, but I'll always give maximum effort as while I remain in position."

The Welsh Coach's Position

Bellamy played for the Hoops on loan from the Magpies in 2005, but the ex- Wales forward is inclined to finish the ongoing World Cup qualification, a stance that would effectively rule out the mid-forties from assuming the Glasgow position.

The Welsh squad are presently in third place in their qualifying group behind group toppers Belgium and runners-up Macedonia.

Victories over the minnows and their rivals in next month would book their position in the final qualifying round, but they are virtually assured of making those, due to a productive European competition performance, even if they not end up their group runners-up.

Considering his current position, Bellamy, whose agreement concludes after Euro 2028, would not be available until after the play-offs at the minimum.
